HISTORY
Guardiola born in 18 January 1971. Currently he is couch for FC Barcelona and actually a former Barcelona player. Guardiola played as a defensive midfielder and spent the majority of his playing career with FC Barcelona. However, after retiring as a player, he became coach for FC Barcelona B. At that time, he doing so well as a couch for FC Barcelona B and make the team promoted into Segunda League.

Even though Barcelona B got first place in Segunda, they cannot up to Primera because of another Barcelona senior squad(FC Barcelona) had been there. The same goes to Barcelona C.
President Joan Laporta announced that Guardiola would succeed Frank Rickaard as the first team manager. He signed his contract on 5 June 2008. Upon being appointed Guardiola revealed that Ronaldinho, Deco, Samuel Eto'o and others were not part of his plans for the coming season.
In contrast, several signing was made. Daniel Alves and Seydou Keita arrived from Sevilla, Gerard Pique from Manchester United, and Alexander Hleb from Arsenal. Sergio Busquets, Pedro Rodriguez and Jeffren Suarez from Barcelona B also included into the first team squad.
