The Spanish under-21 star recently had been in talks with Bolton but now it appears Sporting Lisbon has won the race for his signature. Jeffren is expected to join Sporting in a €5million deal after lack of first team opportunity for him.
"He (Jeffren) moved up to the first team and helped us a lot but three years without playing at his age isn't great for him," said Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola.
the new signing from Barcelona like Alexis Sanchez make Jeffren departure from club more likely to happen. He wanted to to gain more playing time.
However there is no hurt feeling between the player and couch Guardiola like his father said, "Jeffren will not leave hurt, he thanks the coach (Pep Guardiola) for the opportunity he gave him,".
"He comes off a season in which he did not play much and now he will have the chance to play, compete in European competitions and improve as a footballer again."
